Early 20th century mail delivery wagons

Indiana Rural Letter Carriers Museum

Hawcreek Township, Bartholomew County, Indiana was the first Rural Free Delivery in Indiana, starting as 3 experimental routes in 1896. This wing of the museum is designed to share the history, people, artifacts, and organizations that have made significant contributions to Rural Free Delivery. They paved the way for rural mail delivery as we know it today. Come into the museum or click below to explore the story of the Indiana Rural Letter Carrier Museum
